Privacy Notice
This notice explains the information The Sparky Standard handles when you create an account, use training activities or purchase a membership.
Information we handle
We may handle your account identifier, email address, display name, subscription and trial status, quiz attempts, scores, XP, saved progress, selected profile items, support messages and technical information needed to operate and secure the Service.
Why we use it
We use this information to create and secure your account, provide membership access, save progress, operate rankings and multiplayer activities, process payments, provide support, prevent misuse and improve the Service.
Class learning records
If you choose to join a class, its authorised trainer can view your name, account email and new practice results and download reports. Attempts started before you joined are excluded. Leaving the class removes the trainer’s access through that class; previously downloaded reports may remain with the organisation. Ask the organisation about its handling and retention of those reports. Written practice marks are self-assessed and practical simulation scores are reported by your browser.
Organisation seats
An organisation account owner can assign and remove candidate email addresses for paid seats and see which emails have been assigned. We match the assigned address to a candidate’s signed-in account to provide access. Paying for a seat does not give the organisation access to that candidate’s learning results. Results are shared with a trainer only if the candidate separately joins a class.
Payments through Stripe
Membership checkout and billing management are provided by Stripe. Stripe receives the payment and billing information you enter during checkout and provides us with identifiers and subscription status needed to grant or remove access. We do not store your complete payment-card number or card security code. Stripe handles information under its own privacy terms.
Other service providers
Information may be processed by providers that support identity, hosting, databases, analytics and communications. They may only use it to provide those services or as otherwise permitted by law. We do not sell your personal information.
Local storage and similar technology
The app may store progress, preferences and session information in your browser or device. This helps the app work, preserve settings and support offline or interrupted use.
Storage and security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect account information. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure. Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the Service, legal obligations, dispute resolution and security.
Access and correction
You may ask to access or correct personal information associated with your account, subject to applicable law. You may also request account deletion, although some records may need to be retained for legal, payment, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes.
Overseas processing
Some technology providers may process information outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the service and applicable obligations.
Changes and questions
We may update this notice as the Service develops. Material changes will be communicated reasonably. Privacy questions or requests can be submitted through the support or contact option published on The Sparky Standard website.
